How Essence Luxury Hot Sauce Is Made

Handcrafted • 60-Day Fermentation • Small Batch Luxury

Discover the meticulous, small-batch process behind Essence — our premium artisanal hot sauce. Every bottle is handmade with the world’s finest peppers using traditional slow-fermentation methods that create unmatched depth, complexity, and flavor.

Why Essence Stands Apart

While most hot sauces are mass-produced, Essence is made slowly by hand. Our 90-day process (60 days of fermentation + 30 days of resting) results in a true luxury hot sauce with rich umami and beautifully balanced heat.

Our Handcrafted Process

Step 1: Sourcing the World’s Best Peppers We personally select the finest peppers at peak ripeness for each batch.

Step 2: Precision Preparation Stems are removed and only the purest part of the fruit is capped and chopped into small pieces.

Step 3: 60-Day Slow Fermentation The chopped peppers ferment at a cool 60°F together with onions, cinnamon, bay leaf, star anise, ginger, turmeric, and garlic. This gentle, low-temperature fermentation develops incredible complexity and natural tang.

Step 4: Blending After fermentation, we remove all spices except the garlic and blend the mixture until velvety smooth.

Step 5: Artisanal Salt & Vinegar We add 2% specialty salt and 3% custom vinegar chosen specifically for each flavor. This is what gives every Essence sauce its unique character.

Step 6: 30-Day Resting Period The pureed sauce returns to the fermenter at 60°F for 30 additional days. We gently mix by hand each week to reach the perfect thickness and flavor harmony.

Step 7: Hand-Bottling & Luxury Packaging Each bottle is carefully hand-filled, personally signed, and includes a certificate of authenticity and thank-you note — all presented in a beautiful gift box.
